Shimano Disc
Shimano introduced in 2010 a revolutionary technology for cooling the disc brakes, called ICE-TECH. " As with any brake system, there is a direct relationship between the kinetic energy (generated by braking force) and the thermal energy (heat), shimano disc has been engaged in managing the temperature of the brake systems. Lowering the temperature helps to avoid negative effects on braking performance. Indeed, the result of brake system with "ICE technology" had a yield with virtually zero loss in normal usage, increasing the durability of the tablets in 100% and substantially reducing the noise. This technology basically consists of two elements. First of all, the rotors have a structure of "sandwich" consisting of three layers: an aluminum core and two layers of stainless steel on the outside, in order to dissipate the higher heat of aluminum, reducing the surface temperature of the rotor about 100 degrees. Second, the ICE technology in brake pads stand out flaps (hinged surfaces) of aluminum cooled to improve heat dissipation and reduce the surface temperature of the brake pads, for 50 degrees. Therefore, the brake Ice-Tech pilotages are recommended for demanding trails. • All Shimano XTR disc brakes tested with combinations of sizes of rotors / pads exceeded company standards Velotech for disc brakes, as well as European standards of quality: DIN EN14766 standard and GS. • The shimano disc brakes "Ice-Tech excelled in tests even under conditions that are three times heavier than required by DIN +. • Even in the fatigue test to reach all the equipment, brakes Ice-Tech won results far superior to competitors, including Ice-Tech brakes withstood the tests up to 1050 Watts, while even the famous saint can not do that. (A tip for users in the group we recommend using SAINT rotors Ice-Tech, because it guarantees a higher income system!). • The new XTR brakes work in a temperature level well below the standards of the shimano disc brake systems and has practically zero yield loss. • Conclusion: The brake system Ice-Tech contributed much to the life of your system, in addition to durability, reliability and performance precision braking. Enjoy the riding!. . . We compare with the new Shimano XTR SM-RT98 DISC-S 160 mm, weighs 160 grams, the beauty of more than 52 grams' ASHIMA than that for a pair of wheels is equivalent to well over 104 grams in weight, with a much lower price. The entire staff of PBIKESTORE fully appreciated this new center-lock shimano disc adapter, both for the weight but for the construction and mounting system, really well done. .
