Shimano Sora
The Shimano Sora is the starting point of the entire catalog of the Japanese devoted to racing bikes. The group has always been the choice of manufacturers who wanted to assemble an entry level bike, Inexpensive, but reliable. Over the years, despite being snubbed by many cyclists, this group has demonstrated high reliability and functionality. A group preferred by those who tend to the point, with an eye to saving. For 2008 also Sora, however, has remade a slight facelift, which improves the functionality and overall quality. Not only is the transition from 8 to nine speed that characterizes the group 2008: everything has been revised and refined, so that we can speak of a shimano sora unpublished. The crank has been redesigned and is now more lightweight and has the integrated bottom bracket, available with the crowns of teeth and 50/34 as amended by triple 50/39/30 teeth. The cranks continue to be able to be chosen from among three sizes: 167, 170 and 175 mm in length. Renewed the commands, which are now more modern aesthetics and the ability to adjust the distance of the levers 4-position to facilitate those who have small hands. Another new feature is the indicator of the gear lever, a help, especially for beginners. Also redesigned the rear derailleur, always available in two versions: short cage for the double, long cage for triple crankset. In both cases, the smallest sprocket may be 11, 27, while the largest, but the total capacity of the first stops at 31, while the long cage reaches 37. The derailleur was renewed in aesthetics and is available in two versions: one for the double and triple crankset. Between the two changes the geometry of the parallelogram, allowing the former to accept up to 53 crowns and a difference of 16 teeth with the crown smaller (previously 15) in the second one stops to crowns of 50 teeth (first 52) , a difference of 20 teeth with the crown smaller (previously 22). The hubs, however, have not changed, as the sprocket, which is inherited from Tiagra, the group just above, and the chain, again in common with the Tiagra and Deore (MTB group). Has not yet been made official price or is given to know the date of marketing, but certainly soon will begin to see the first bike fitted with this group. The progress we are all, and now everything seems to be more in step with the times. It will not be the classic group that chooses the amateur who wants to build a special, but surely, starting weight, has nothing to envy to other more expensive lines. The functionality and reliability are guaranteed. An ideal group for those who approach the world of bike racing, for those not willing (or able) to spend high figures for other groups, but also for the enthusiast who wants to assemble a second bike "for training". . . .
